History of the Company

Eagle Medical Transports, LLC is a full service ambulance company based out of Newport News Virginia. It provides emergency and non-emergency transportation for hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, private residents, doctor’s offices, and rehabilitation centers just to name a few. The company was founded in January 2008 by Mr. Shaun Sorensen, an Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate (EMT-I) himself. It became a Limited Liability Company during the same year. Mr. Sorensen used his talent to acquire two ambulances, some patients and opened an office. For Mr. Sorensen, the patient always comes first. He had a keen eye for recognizing the needs and weaknesses of the company. Mr. Kenneth Franklin a longtime friend of Mr. Sorensen’s joined the company in March 2009. Franklin was hired as the General Manager / Chief to improve and update the administrative branch of the company. Over the years, the company has grown and management shifted. By the end of 2009, Mr. Sorensen and Mr. Franklin no longer outsourced billing, dispatching, and vehicle maintenance. In April 2010, Franklin was offered 50% ownership in the company and the position of CEO for his hard work and accomplishments. Mr. Sorensen and Mr. Franklin use their combined 28 years of experience, knowledge, and hard work to build the business. Their strategy is continuing to grow the business while keeping the focus on providing Excellent Customer Service.

About the Owners

Shaun Sorensen, Co-Owner, Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Sorensen has eight years of qualified management experience in the health industry within the private sector along with twelve years experience in EMS. As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Eagle Medical Transports, LLC, Sorensen oversees the overall expansion of the business and special operations. He is responsible for long-range planning, organizing, directing, and coordination of the company. The duties include customer services, planning, forecasting, scheduling, quality control, inventory control and providing administration support for employees. He has developed contacts among suppliers of industry products and equipment. To ensure the company remains competitive for the future, he negotiates contracts with supply vendors. He reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress, and revise operations as needed. This position requires a great amount of contact with EMTs and customers.

Ken Franklin, Co-Owner & Chief Operations Officer (COO) –Department Chief

Franklin has a solid eight years of qualified management experience in the health industry within the private sector along with Sixteen years experience in EMS. In the capacity of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Eagle Medical Transports, LLC, Franklin oversees management of the company’s operations, marketing, finances, human resources, company policies, instruction, quality control, internal control systems, information security, intellectual property management, strategy and planning, purchasing, website design and development, marketing and customer service. He plans business objectives, develop policies, and establish procedures for attaining objectives. His duties include analyzing the company’s budgetary requirements and managing financial tasks such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, collections, capital expenditure planning, cash flow, and various financial reviews. He examines and verifies all financial records to ensure they are accurate, complete, and comply with federal laws. He develops fiscal policies and there implementation.
